The Story Behind the Scouter

The Beginning

I've been obsessed with Dragon Ball Z since I was a kid. The scouter was always the coolest piece of tech in the show — not just a prop, but a real tool that read power levels and detected threats.

So I built one. A real, functional scouter with mmWave radar, power level scanning, and 30+ hour battery life. It took months of prototyping, but I finally nailed it.

The Demand

I shared it online and got hundreds of DMs from people asking where they could buy one. The demand was real.

So I'm opening pre-orders to make these available to everyone who's dreamed of owning one.

I'm being realistic with timelines. Each scouter takes ~9 hours to print + assembly time. I'll be transparent with production updates throughout.

Great question! Here's the honest breakdown:

  • 3D Printing: Each unit takes ~9 hours to print all components
  • Assembly: 25 minutes per unit (careful work!)
  • Testing: Every scouter is tested before shipping
  • Scaling: I'm buying 3-4 printers with campaign funds to speed this up

With multiple printers running 24/7, I can produce ~7-10 units per day. For 100 units, that's roughly 2-3 weeks of printing, plus assembly and testing time.

I'm committed to transparency. If there are any delays or issues, I'll post updates immediately. This isn't my first build — I've already made working prototypes. But hardware is hard, and I'd rather under-promise and over-deliver than the reverse.

Yes and no. It's impossible for the human eye to focus on something that close. It is not a holographic display, so it is not possible to read the screen clearly while wearing the device.

HOWEVER, there are visual elements on the screen designed to be visually understandable. For example, when reading power levels, there is a bar along the side of the screen so it's possible to tell generally how high someone's power level is within the scale of 0-10,000.

Think of it like peripheral vision indicators — you'll see colors, brightness changes, and movement that give you feedback without needing to read exact numbers.

The Scouter is a 3D printed product made using high-quality FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) printing. This means:

  • Minor layer lines may be visible on close inspection
  • Small surface imperfections are characteristic of the printing process
  • Each unit is carefully hand-assembled and tested to ensure functionality

This is a functional, handcrafted device — not mass-produced plastic. The finish quality reflects premium FDM printing standards, and every unit is inspected before shipping.

The scouter arm is adjustable (±30° rotation) and comes with removable straps. The headband and earpad are designed to fit most head sizes. If you have specific fit concerns, message me — I want every backer to be happy.
Yes! You can upgrade or change your edition anytime before the pre-order window closes. Just reach out via email or social media and I'll help you adjust it.
Absolutely. This is Wave 1 (50 units at early pricing). If demand is high, I'll open Wave 2 with potentially new color or features. But these first 50 will always be the OG batch at the best price - plus Wave 1 buyers get discounts on future waves.

Currently planning US-only shipping for Wave 1 to keep logistics manageable.

However, if there's significant international demand, I'll add it as a stretch goal or open it for Wave 2.

Pre-orders can be cancelled for a full refund anytime before the pre-order window closes and production begins. Once I start manufacturing your specific unit, cancellations become more difficult. But I'm reasonable - reach out if you have concerns.
