The Story Behind the Scouter

The Beginning

I've been obsessed with Dragon Ball Z since I was a kid. The scouter was always the coolest piece of tech in the show — not just a prop, but a real tool that read power levels and detected threats.

So I built one. A real, functional scouter with mmWave radar, power level scanning, and 30+ hour battery life. It took months of prototyping, but I finally nailed it.

The Demand

I shared it online and got hundreds of DMs from people asking where they could buy one. The demand was real.

So now I'm making them available as bespoke, handcrafted cosplay pieces — each one built to order, just for you.

Great question! Here's the honest breakdown:

  • 3D Printing: Each unit takes ~9 hours to print all components
  • Assembly: 25 minutes per unit (careful work!)
  • Testing: Every scouter is tested before shipping

Each Scouter is handcrafted — not mass-produced. That's what makes it special, and it's worth the wait.

Yes and no. It's impossible for the human eye to focus on something that close. It is not a holographic display, so it is not possible to read the screen clearly while wearing the device.

HOWEVER, there are visual elements on the screen designed to be visually understandable. For example, when reading power levels, there is a bar along the side of the screen so it's possible to tell generally how high someone's power level is within the scale of 0-10,000.

Think of it like peripheral vision indicators — you'll see colors, brightness changes, and movement that give you feedback without needing to read exact numbers.

The Scouter is a 3D printed product made using high-quality FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) printing. This means:

  • Minor layer lines may be visible on close inspection
  • Small surface imperfections are characteristic of the printing process
  • Each unit is carefully hand-assembled and tested to ensure functionality

This is a functional, handcrafted device — not mass-produced plastic. The finish quality reflects premium FDM printing standards, and every unit is inspected before shipping.

The scouter arm is adjustable (±30° rotation) and comes with removable straps. The headband and earpad are designed to fit most head sizes. If you have specific fit concerns, message me — I want every customer to be happy.
